It gives homeless, working poor, and disenfranchised people a voice to express what is happening in their lives. It is a moving, funny and often thought provoking bird's eye view into the lives of residents of an ever changing Los Angeles. The Alexandria Workshops is a Company of Angels Education and Outreach Community Theater Program. Directed and facilitated by Lui Sanchez, Art McDermott, and Pat Cochran.

META: Mutual Education Theater Academy
Instead of the community coming to the theater, Angels spend six weeks or more in residential communities providing Los Angeles children and adults workshops in playwriting, acting, improvisation, and stagecraft. In exchange we seek to learn from course participants and gain a deeper understanding of our city and its populace. This mutual education leads to the development of talent in participants as well as professional theater productions that reflect Los Angeles.
Somewhere between the political media hype and the manipulation of public opinion lies: "Project X". The Company of Angels and the students of Wilson High School explore the historical and present significance of the vote in America.
ALEXANDRIA WORKSHOPS in collaboration with Urban Possibilities
Classes are available for residents of The Alexandria and area homeless men and women being served by URBAN POSSIBILITIES, a non-profit organization dedicated to help those in need who strive to become contributing citizens of Los Angeles. Every Wednesday, beginning February 17, 2010. Company of Angels will offer theatre games, monologue work, scene study, actor exercises, and improvisational work; all of which will culminate in a performance in the Company of Angel's Black Box Theater.
Join Instructors Pat Cochran, Art McDermott, Director Lui Sanchez and Eyvette Jones, Executive Director of Urban Possibilities.
Our goal is to provide a safe spave to foster artistic expression for those unaccustomed to having this opportunity. We will encourage personal story-telling and allow freedom to explore throughts and emotions through theater. We will create a trusting environment where this expression can thrive with integrity and compassion.

POSADA
Posada is Spanish for shelter. Traditionally, the posadas represent the difficult search for housing by Mary & Joseph before the birth of Jesus.
Since 2007, Company of Angels assists in the social celebration and presentation of community members' struggle for quality, affordable housing. Camino a la Posada is a celebration of the journeys residents undertake to bring programs and services to our community. These resources help support our efforts to create healthy and happy households in hard economic times.

In collaboration with East LA Community Corporation and the residents of Boyle Heights.
In these tough times when there’s plenty of money for prisons, more troops, new wars, and big screen TVs, low- income communities struggle with the difficult consequences of injustices. Children and youth are especially affected. “La Fregada” can refer to the current economy, oppressed peoples, and the undocumented woman working in the garment industry in Los Angeles. This is a story told by the children of “La Fregada.”
